Mighty Grannies and Amazons celebrate
For the past nine months, the Deaf Amazons (the Deaf Community Center’s women’s soccer team) and the Mighty Grannies (an expat and Khmer pick-up soccer team that formed to give the Amazons someone to scrimmage) have been practicing and scrimmaging on a monthly basis. One of our strongest players and coaches will be returning to the USA this week and hosted a thank you and farewell party. Both teams and DCC staff gathered to share snacks and to cruise the rivers of Phnom Penh this past weekend. A great time was had by all, thanks to the patience of the Amazons with the Grannies limited sign ability.
